Terms of Service
Last updated: February 20, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Barrel AI-powered executive assistant platform at barrelagent.com (the "Service"), operated by Barrel, a company registered in the United Arab Emirates ("we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
This is the most important section of these Terms. Read it carefully.
The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate briefings, summaries, alerts, recommendations, data analysis, and other outputs ("AI Outputs"). You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Artificial intelligence is an emerging technology with inherent limitations. AI models can produce errors, misinterpret data, generate misleading conclusions, or present fabricated information as fact ("hallucinations").
- We cannot predict, control, or guarantee the accuracy of AI Outputs. The nature of AI means that outputs can vary even when given identical inputs. We make no representations or warranties about the correctness, reliability, or completeness of any AI Output.
- You use AI Outputs entirely at your own risk. You are solely responsible for evaluating, verifying, and deciding whether to act on any AI Output. Any action you take based on AI Outputs is your decision alone.
- AI Outputs do not constitute professional advice of any kind. Specifically, AI Outputs are not and should never be treated as: financial advice, investment advice, trading recommendations, legal advice, compliance guidance, tax advice, accounting advice, safety recommendations, or any other form of professional counsel.
- The Service is not a substitute for professional judgment. Oil and gas operations, commodity trading, regulatory compliance, and financial decisions carry substantial risk. These decisions require qualified human professionals. Barrel is a productivity tool, not a decision-maker.
- We are not responsible for any losses, damages, or consequences arising from your reliance on AI Outputs, including but not limited to: financial losses from trading decisions, missed regulatory deadlines, incorrect data in reports or presentations, failed compliance obligations, safety incidents, contractual disputes, or any other business impact.
You agree to always verify critical information through authoritative sources before making business decisions. Market data should be confirmed with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or your exchange. Compliance deadlines should be confirmed with your legal team. Safety data should be confirmed with your HSE department. Financial figures should be confirmed with your finance team.
2. The Service
Barrel provides an AI-powered executive assistant designed for the oil and gas industry. The Service includes morning briefings, meeting preparation, market monitoring, document analysis, calendar management, and related features. We may modify, update, or discontinue features at any time.
The Service requires you to connect third-party data sources (email, calendar, enterprise systems). The quality and accuracy of AI Outputs depend in part on the quality and completeness of the data provided through these integrations. Incorrect, incomplete, or outdated source data will produce incorrect outputs.
3. Account Responsibilities
- You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to enter agreements on behalf of yourself or your organization.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must keep your login credentials confidential. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
- You must provide accurate and current information during registration.
- One account per person. Do not share account access with unauthorized individuals.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose, including sanctions evasion, insider trading, market manipulation, or fraud
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the AI models or algorithms
- Circumvent usage limits, access controls, or security measures
- Use the Service to generate content that is harmful, misleading, or violates third-party rights
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service without written permission
- Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond normal use
5. Intellectual Property
Our IP: The Service, including its software, design, AI models, branding, and documentation, is owned by Barrel or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service.
Your data: You retain ownership of all data you provide to the Service. You grant us a limited license to process your data solely to operate and improve the Service as described in our Privacy Policy.
AI Outputs: You may use AI Outputs for your internal business purposes. We do not claim ownership of AI Outputs generated from your data. However, given the nature of AI, similar or identical outputs may be generated for other users from different inputs.
6. Fees and Payment
Pricing and payment terms will be specified in your subscription agreement or on our pricing page. All fees are in US Dollars unless otherwise stated. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or as specified in your subscription agreement. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' written notice.
7. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, third-party outages, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses caused by Service interruptions or downtime.
The Service depends on third-party data providers (market data feeds, email providers, enterprise systems). Outages or errors in third-party services may affect the Service. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party data.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
- We do not warrant that AI Outputs will be accurate, complete, timely, or error-free.
- In no event shall Barrel, its directors, employees, partners, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, loss of business opportunity, trading losses, or regulatory penalties, regardless of cause and whether arising in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Barrel and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service, (b) your reliance on AI Outputs, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.
10. Confidentiality
We treat your business data as confidential. We will not disclose your data to third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy or as required by law. You agree to keep confidential any non-public information about the Service, including pricing terms, beta features, and technical details.
11. Termination
You may cancel your account at any time through the Service or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay fees, or if we reasonably believe continued access poses a risk to the Service or other users.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 1, 5, 8, 9, and 12) will survive.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through the courts of the United Arab Emirates, unless the parties agree to alternative dispute resolution.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with any changes, your remedy is to stop using the Service and close your account.
14. General
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any subscription agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Barrel.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- No waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
